Folks We Like
The people on this page are not here because we agree with every vote they have ever cast. We don’t, and we wouldn’t expect to. They are here because they have demonstrated, through their records and their conduct, three things that we believe are increasingly rare in American politics: a genuine commitment to the Constitution in full — not just the parts that are convenient — a willingness to work across the aisle and treat political opponents as fellow Americans rather than enemies, and the kind of character that puts the job above the party. These are Democrats and Republicans. Some of them frustrate the left. Some of them frustrate the right. We consider that a credential. The Middle Americans doesn’t endorse a party or a platform — we endorse people who show up, do the work, and remember who they actually work for.

Janelle Stelson
Janelle Stelson is running as a Dem for Congress in PA10, which includes all of Dauphin and parts of York and Cumberland Counties. We like her more than most politicians because as a local news anchor her career was about getting the facts right. How nice is that!? She’s not a party ideologue and respects the Constitution across the board. To us, she doesn’t seem like she’s looking to bend the rules or work around the system when it’s convenient for her side. We also like that she says she’ll sit down with anyone who has a good idea, regardless of party, which is super important right now.

Brian Fitzpatrick
Brian Fitzpatrick is a Republican congressman from Bucks County representing PA1, running for reelection in a district carried by Kamala Harris in 2024. This tells us a lot about where he sits politically. More importantly, he was the first Republican to publicly vow to kill the nearly $1.8 billion slush fund that has most of Congress fuming. He co-chairs the Problem Solvers Caucus, which is a bipartisan group equally split between Democrats and Republicans that actually tries to get things done. We also like Fitzpatrick’s opponent in his general election, but Fitzpatrick’s courage over the years has caught our attention and admiration.

James Malone
James Malone is a PA state senator representing northern Lancaster County. Before that he spent 8 years as mayor of East Petersburg. In 2024, he pulled off a huge upset, becoming the first Dem to win that district in over 130 years, which tells you he’s not a partisan idealogue. He co-sponsored a resolution affirming the rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and condemning the use of deadly force by federal immigration enforcement officers. We agree with Malone – all of the rights in the Constitution apply, not just some.

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is running for reelection in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District. She co-chairs the Blue Dog Coalition, the House Democratic caucus for centrists, and is also a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus. She won reelection in 2024 even as her district went for Trump. She’s been clear that peaceful protest is constitutionally protected, but lawlessness is not. She frustrates the left for not being progressive enough and the right for winning in a Trump district, which is a good sign of her moderate credentials.

Young Kim
Young Kim is a California Republican congresswoman representing Orange County. She’s one of the few members of either party who’s been ranked one of the most bipartisan members in the entire House. On the Constitution, she doesn’t pick and choose which rights she cares about — she’s pushed back when she believes constitutional protections are being ignored and takes seriously the idea that the rule of law applies to everyone equally. She takes a lot of heat from the right for not being partisan enough, which tells us she’s doing something right.
